Six Months.

Exactly six months ago, I married Mr. Robert David Davis. {08.27.11}.
It seems like within in the last six months we have been to the moon and back; but, I wouldn't have had it any other way.

1: Whenever Robert is feeling extra sentimental he brings home flowers. I should also point out that the whole "bring your wife home flowers" thing usually isn't his cup of tea. It has come to mean a great deal and something very special when he surprises me with flowers. Cute, right?

Not so cute? When you see them 4-5 days later and they are as dead as dead can be. I always joke with Robert  that flowers are the worst symbol of love, ever. Yes, I LOVE it when he brings home flowers, but it's depressing when they die. Who wants flowers to be a symbol of their love for their significant other, when it dies soon after? Lame, I know.

2: Robert= smartest husband award. For Valentines day, instead of buying me a traditional bouquet of roses, he bought me a cute little rose plant (who likes traditional things anyway?) That friends, is a real flower that symbolizes love. It doesn't die after three days; it keeps growing.

3: Said rose plant bloomed for the first time today, on our sixth month anniversary.

Along with our cute little rose plant, we celebrated with Peanut Butter Cheerios and Cafe Rio. Robert and I were off of sugar when said Cheerios came out on the market which was incredibly depressing, since we are both PB fanatics. They were completely worth the wait. Delicious.

Happy Six Months, Husband.

Funnies

A few semesters ago my professor showed me this:

If any of you know me, it is known that whenever I find something funny, I can't stop laughing for about 5 minutes, and EVERYONE knows I think it is funny. This was one of those times. Today when I was supposed to be studious, I decided to look up more  "I clearly didn't study" exam answers. I spent a good hour falling off my chair laughing, and compiled a list of my all time favorites. #1 is at the bottom.

You have to save best for last. But really, please take the time to read this. You will forever be grateful.

Happy Wednesday!

Red Velvet Pancakes, Thai Food, and Valentines Day

Monday night the festivities began. First, we had the Davis' annual dinner and dance. I don't have any pictures, but it was so much fun! A perfect way to start off Valentines.

Tuesday morning Robert-o and I woke up to make Red Velvet Pancakes. They were delicious.

I got the idea for the recipe from my favorite dessert blog. I didn't really use her recipe just the idea to dye it red with purred raspberries. (genius I tell you, genius!). Robert and I aren't eating sugar, and so the idea was perfect. I can't exactly remember how I made them (I need to write it down next time I make them),  but essentially it's like you are making pancakes form scratch, but sub 2 T of flour for dark cocoa powder, and 1/2 C milk for 1/2 C of pureed raspberries. Topped it with carob sweetened chocolate chips. Divine.

At the end of the day we also all came home to gluten free, sugar free cookies. (I know, I know, you all probably think I am crazy; but, they were amazing.

By sheer luck, I was able to finish Robert's present in time! (I engraved the inside of his ring)

We decided to break the tradition of making home made pizza, and my parents took all of us out for Thai food! I was okay with it since Thai food is probably my most favorite food in the whole world. It was this cute hole in wall restaurant called the King & I. It's a keeper.

To top it all off:

A Vegas sunset.

This year was the second Valentines Robert and I have spent together. Last Valentines Robert and I had just started dating, and when he came over he brought me a beautiful bouquet of tulips. Being a girl, I was convinced the tulips were a sign to tell me that he wanted to be friends. This year he came home with roses, just to make sure I knew that he wants to be more than just friends. Although it's kind of an awkward stage in our lives, living with our parents and all, Robert made it an incredibly special Valentines for me. I couldn't be happier.

Hope everyone had a marvelous Valentines Day. :)

Robert & Claire Believe.

Seen the slogan Believe in America lately? Yesterday, Nevada Believed, and so did Mr. Husband-o and I.
Technically, we didn't do the whole caucus thing because we are still Idaho residents, but we did celebrate.

Anyone who knows my parents, especially my mom, knows that being their daughter automatically puts us right in the middle of the Romney Campaign or anything politically for that matter. Naturally, my mother has been very involved in the Romney campaign in both 2008 and 2012. Although we hardly see her for about  six months, it does have it's perks!  (Recap of his last visit to Vegas here.

We got to be VIP's at the victory party last night!

Looking at his security guards, the last thing I am worried about it his safety.

Can I also say that his daughter-in-law had on the most adorable dress I had ever seen?! I asked Mitt where she got it. He didn't answer me.

Happy Sunday!
