Three Months

Our little Calvin is now three months old. I was looking at pictures from his birth-day and could hardly believe he was that tiny not too long ago. Our little friend here didn't have a doctors check up this month, but I know he has sure grown a lot!

Calvin is getting more and more talkative, which I just love. He is super chatty whenever he is on his changing table and right after I finish feeding him. He has three different phases; he is either incredibly smiley and chatty; really, really, really intense and quite, just staring at things (see black and white picture :) ; or hoppin' mad because he is overly tired. The past week has been an eventful one! He has started reaching and grabbing toys, rolling over from back to stomach and he got a TOOTH!

PS- I took pictures of him for almost 30 minutes to try and get him to smile. His kind of half smile at the top was the best I could do! He would only just stare at me :)

He was sleeping great, from about 7:30 to 5 and then back down till 8 until the past two weeks when nights were a nightmare (which we figured out was due to the tooth). But now he really is consistently sleeping through the night. We start putting him down around 7:30 and he sleeps until 7 or 7:30 am! It is beautiful. Our doctor said that once he was 10-12 lbs then he doesn't need the middle of the night feeding anymore and they usually just wake up out of habit. So that is when we started trying harder to get him to sleep through the night. So after some long nights he is a champion sleeper!

He is now eating every 3 1/2 hours and has dropped his evening cat nap and just takes 3 naps a day that are all roughly 90 minutes. At least once a day he will take about a 20 minute nap but wakes up chatty and happy so I usually don't put him back down.

He is almost out of some of his 3-6 month onesies already! He is still in his 0-3 month jeans, which fit him perfectly.  It depends on the brand, but almost anything Carters is getting on the snug side….especially his pajamas with footies because his feet are the size of an average 10 month old!

He hates his carseat, so car rides aren't all that fun unless Robert or I are back there to help entertain him and keep him distracted. It also means that carseats in the shopping cart are a no go, so whenever we go into the store we strap him in the Bjorn. He loves loves loves to look around (which is why he hates sitting in his carseat in the cart), so I am pretty excited for when I can actually sit him in the cart!

We just love this little munchkin man more and more each month!

A Cabin Weekend

This past week Robert officially finished the first block of medical school, and passed! At UNSOM the school year is split into blocks rather than semesters, and rather than being tested on individual classes, you are tested on everything. On Monday he had a midterm, Tuesday a final and Thursday another final. The man was gone from 7am-11pm about everyday for 2 weeks preparing for the final; he was pretty nervous, but he did great and passed with flying colors.

To celebrate having our men back in our lives for a WHOLE weekend, we went up with some friends to their cabin in Northern California. We spent the weekend hanging out in the woods and letting the boys veg out and not have to think for a few days.

Emmeline loves rubbing Calvin's bald head for good luck.

We also carved pumpkins:

...and decided that the pumpkins definitely reflect each of the boys' personalities.

I captured this gem right before we left for the Cabin. I thought he was asleep in the back of the car and apparently he was just sitting there, probably with a death wish upon me or something, haha. Ohhh Calvin, we just love you.
