San Francisco

Since Robert was at Navy Officer training for my birthday this summer, he mailed me a birthday card and promised me a trip to San Francisco. I was already a little bit sad that we have lived so close for a YEAR and still hadn't made it over, so naturally I was ecstatic about this weekend getaway.

We got there on Friday afternoon, and stayed until Saturday evening.
Friday we spent the afternoon (4 1/2 hours) biking around Golden Gate Park, Presido, biking over the bridge, and around Saulsalido (and then back). Biking San Francisco is NOT for the faint of heart; but it was definitely my favorite part of the trip!

That evening we walked around Fishermans Wharf and had delicious chowder in sourdough bread bowls, and Fish & Chips.

On Saturday we woke up and went to the Cal Academy of Sciences. We could have spent a whole day here for sure, but Calvin was getting tired, so after 4 hours, we decided to head over to the Sutro baths and hang out at the beach.

It was a fantastic trip. Until next time, San Fran!

Calvin's One Year Pictures

When we were down in Las Vegas over the summer, we had one of my old friends take Calvin's one year pictures. She is very talented, and I absolutely love them! They really capture Calvin's personality. Thanks Jane! 

Calvin's First Birthday

In case you missed it, our dear boy turned one on the 23rd of July. His celebrations were split into a few different days. 

On his actual birthday, he woke up to his birthday chair (where some of the balloons had sadly deflated) with his favorite breakfast of eggs and pancakes. 

We then had a fun day at the Bellagio and Children's Museum and finished the day off with pizza, a few gifts, homemade cherry cheesecake ice cream and a backyard movie night.

A few days later, on Saturday, we had a big birthday swimming party, BBQ bash.
