Rainy Days & Stealing Vegetables

Robert and I survived the first week of class! Waking up at 3 am makes the days feel like they never end, yet, they do; and Fridays become a much more special day of the week.
Friday we had the perfect afternoon. We finished with class by 11:15 and decided to take a break from studying. It was raining, and by raining I mean POURING. We opened the window, ate soup, watched Psych and cuddled to our hearts content. {without feeling guilty about not doing homework and having to go to bed at 8 pm}.  Yes, it was the perfect rainy day afternoon. We also made it to the temple. Did I mention? Best.Day. Of. the.Week.

Saturday morning we slept in till 5:30. By 6:45 we were standing outside in 50 degree weather waiting for our Bountiful Baskets. Haven't heard of it? Well, you should probably learn about it here . My family back in Vegas are big BB people, and how I have missed it. Robert and I love produce, and really, I mean we are obsessed.

After bountiful baskets we decided to go to my sister Natalie's old apartment and steal all their produce from their garden. Okay, so we may or may not have had permission, but I still felt a little guilty. Natalie and Mark tended to this garden for so long and they moved unexpectedly to Vegas- we didn't want all that produce to go to waste. Pretty sure they were the BIGGEST zucchinis I have ever seen. Out of control.
props to Nat & Mark for being pro-gardeners and letting us reap the reward

Saturday, Robert had a little domestic blood running through him and decided to make waffles, bake bread, AND clean the house. {yeah, Greek god}.

When we first started dating I introduced him to change-your-life-bread by Jim Lahey and bought him the cookbook for his birthday. Haven't heard of the "No-knead" method? Prepare for your life to be changed by clicking here. {its an article by my cooking hero Mark Bittman, and if you are feeling adventurous, just click here}. In Lahey's book My Bread, he uses the "no-knead" method for a million kids of bread {hyperbole}, including Peanut Butter & Jelly bread.

On said Saturday Robert decided to make this Peanut Butter & Jelly Bread {since we are both obsessed with PB}.

Imagine the best PB & Jelly sandwich, in a piece of bread. Once again Mr. Lahey has changed our lives.

Happy Sunday from your favorite newlyweds in Rexburg!

Post-Wedding: Real Life.

Okay, most people say that you after your Post-Wedding Vacation (commonly known as a "Honeymoon") you start to notice the little odd things or talents your new eternal-companion does/has. Roberts? He doesn't have one; except for the whole talented at being a garbage man version of Santa Clause.

Exhibit A:
Impressed? Yeah, I was too. I'm sure our neighbors thought we were awesome too. First day in the pad and we filled up a whole dumpster.

We got to Rexburg on late Monday night and we have been attempting to put it together since then. Our family room started like this:

As of yesterday, turned out like this:

The rest of the house is still coming together, but Mr. Husband has done an excellent job of putting together everything and hanging up everything. We still have lots to do for the hanging; as you can tell, the walls are a little sad. Robert puts everything together and I just put things on/in it, in attempt to try and make our apartment look like a home, and not a rubbish bin.

As for everything else, not concerning the state of our apartment, things are great! Robert and I are your newest early morning janitors on campus. {when I say early morning, I MEAN early morning. Like 4 am- 7 am. Thank goodness we are both morning people.}

For all of you debating about the whole marriage thing; just do it, being married is awesome.

Lastly- one more thank you for all things wedding! Most of the items in our apartment were gifts and we couldn't be more grateful for everyone that supported us on our wedding day.

Wedding Festivities

Eight days ago I married the most amazing man on the face of the planet. I know every one says that. But really- he is my own Mr. Thornton {North & South reference here. If you don't know what I am referring to, you should probably watch this}.

The festivities started on Thursday with my bachelorette party. Let's just be honest here, I am LDS. So when I say bachelorette party, it really is just an excuse to go out to eat and do pedicures. {Mormon Bachelorette Party}.  My sister Melissa put it together for me, and it was just a few cousins and a few good friends. It was a blast, the perfect way to start off the wedding weekend.

Friday was just a mass chaos of putting together the wedding. My best friend, her mom & little sisters came over to help along with a gajillion neighbors, family,  of course Melissa (friend) and Ashlee. Friday was so much fun, it was so fun to see all the people important in my life come help put together the wedding and I just had a blast. I had heard so many horror stories about the day before stress; but I loved it. There was stress here and there, but overall it was pretty much a pre-wedding party.

Saturday Robert and I started off our day with an early morning run {since that is how we started dating and all. See marathon story here}. My best friend Sarah came over soon after to help finish last minute things and help me get ready! Lets just say I have awesome sisters who helped put me together.

We had the luncheon at 11; it was absolutely perfect. We just had close friends and family attend and we were  able to visit with everyone for a substantial amount of time. So many traveled to share that day with us.  Jani & James {we went to their  wedding back in June. Recap here. Jani is awesome and a gorgeous bride!}, Briana, Kara, & Sarah all traveled down! We also had killer food; it was pretty much the best part. {thanks to Linda for capturing the Luncheon and all the deliciousness}.

Robert and I were sealed in the Las Vegas temple at 3 pm and by 5:30 we were back at my house for the family dinner before the reception began. The whole day ran smoothly, and perfect. There were so many that came out to support us and I was just marveled at the crowd! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
By 9 Robert and I headed out! We headed to Lake Tahoe for five days for our post-wedding vacation. Recap on that will come later.

We are still waiting for our official photographers pictures, but Linda did get a few for us!
