The Wedding Week

It's finally here! The week I become Elizabeth Bailey Claire Irene Wixom-Davis, and I get to start eternity with Mr. Robert Davis. Yeah, I am loving every minute and totally pumped.
It was stressful here and there getting to this point, but it's down to actually doing instead of planning and this has been so much fun.

Monday:  
Yesterday we hung the lights in my backyard (they look gorgeous). Thank you Dave, Nathan, Robert and Dad!
 Got contacts, wohoo!
 Scrubbed my little heart out on iron chairs so we could spray paint them for the bistro tables.

Tuesday: 
Make cake stands. (I did this a few hours ago). So cute. Price? $3 a cake stand. My mom is awesome.
Lunch with soon-to-be-husband and his boss.
Shopping with my sister.
Daddy- Daughter date.

Wednesday:
Yard-work.
Lunch with girls from the office.
Marriage License
Temple with Mom & Dad and soon-to-be-Mom & Dad

Thursday:
Yard-Work (see a theme?)
Bachelorette Party!

Friday:
Yard Work
Mad Rush to get everything set up
Family Dinner

Saturday:
Just getting married.

The Countdown

While anxiously awaiting the big wedding day I had a list of chronological events that would occur before Robert and I tied the knot. One of the last things on that list was moving up to our apartment in Rexburg. To our GREAT relief, it is done! We are all moved up to Rexburg (minus a few main pieces of furniture, like a couch, table, dresser and bookshelf.). The night before we moved up we went to Bonnie Springs for Super Summer Theatre so see Fiddler on the Roof with Julie and Nathan. It was so much fun to spend time with them before we move! 

We arrived last Thursday night and unpacked everything that night with the help of Nat & Mark, organized (or attempted to) everything Friday morning, and left Friday afternoon for the HenWixon reunion in Cedar. It was a quick trip, but I even managed to give Robert a quick tour of his town for the upcoming 2 years. In the process, I snapped a quick picture of our finished desk from THIS project. 

In the same post I vowed to never again start a project 3 weeks before I get married. Instead, we decided we would start another revamping project 8 days before we get married.

We found not one, but two of these beauties while we driving down cedar mountain. (they may or may not have been at the dump).  We were in desperate need of furniture, and as it happens, in DYING need of a dresser. So there you have it, the Lord truly does answer prayers. It still blows my mind how blessed we were to come across them. 

We are still in the midst of painting them white, but I am just loving them already. We are putting the same knobs on the dresser that we found at Anthropologie for the desk, but in blue. I am pretty sure they are going to be the cutest dressers you could ever find at a dump on Cedar Mountain. 

Lastly, we get married in 6 days. 

Remodeling

Last week I was able to take my {future} little sister horseback riding for her birthday! Okay, it wasn't all horseback riding, but it was fun. Robert even tagged along, what a great older brother. 

My neighbor owns a little ranch with a few horses and I asked her to take Kristi down to help feed/wash them, and she even rode for a little while. Kristi loves horses like there is no tomorrow; she was just loving every minute. 

 

As of late I have been obsessed with revamping, and crafty DIY projects. Hence, my obsession with this  website and this website. So started my project of revamping this lovely desk that was donated to the {Claire & Robert are poor, getting married & need furniture project} (all are welcome to donate). 

Mistake #1: I am getting married in three weeks. Mistake #2: I am getting married in three weeks, and working full time. Mistake #3: I am getting married in three weeks and have a majority of the wedding to plan still. 

You see, we had some problems. So, we started sanding the little beauty down and it took much, much longer than what I had anticipated. In the end it turned into a Robert project. So thank you future husband, you saved the day. Note to self, next time I get married, don't start a project three weeks before.

Luckily, yesterday we has some time to spare and we got to stain the desk! It still needs its last coat of polyurethane, but it just turned out better than what I could have hoped for. We even got to run out to Anthropolgie yesterday and get these adorable knobs. {in red, of course} 

Duh Duh Dum {drumroll please}...............................................................

One of the desk drawers! It isn't finished yet, so I will just wait to show you the complete desk once it is finished. 

Hopefully before Thursday, because that is when we are moving up to Rexburg!
